When we are sure and ready to buy a dog there are a few things we have to take into consideration before we make a decision.
First we must decide whether we wish to have a dog for shows or breeding or just a household pet.
If we have decided to have a dog for dog shows or breeding, then it is absolutely necessary that you decide which breed would be the most suitable for you? Whether the age of the breed and the nature of the breed with you.
Next step would be to do some extensive reading on the breeds standards, confirmation and temperament so that you will understand if the puppy you are being given confirms to the standard in every way.
Your next step would be to contact the kennel club of that place to give you references of top and reputed breeders.
Once you have the list, make appointments and visit the breeders. Do not be afraid to ask questions. How many years they have been breeding, what are the notable awards and contributions they have made to the dog game etc. Once you have been satisfied with these answers, now go ahead and ask them to show you the litter of puppy they have. First check the confirmation of the puppy and the health of the puppy before and then ask to show the parents.
After all this is a satisfaction to you, then check the pedigrees. Do not blindly ask to see the pedigrees. What is important is the puppy itself. Remember a good puppy cannot have a bad pedigree.
